To plan for future projects and measure progress towards our goals, the DRC closely monitors streamflow in our local rivers and streams throughout the Deschutes Basin.
The DRC operates three gages in the Whychus Creek watershed. One gage monitors flow in Whychus Creek at Rimrock Ranch , one gage monitors flow in Whychus Creek at Camp Polk, and one gage monitors flow in Indian Ford Creek.
The DRC relies on a series of gages operated by the Oregon Water Resources Department, the United States Geological Survey, and the Bureau of Reclamation to monitor other streams, rivers, canals, and reservoirs of the Basin. In addition, we measure streamflow on ungaged streams to determine current conditions and restoration needs.
